Royal Winton Pedestal Dish. 

Classic Royal Winton Grimwades pedestal pedestal dish. 

Made in England in 1961, this ceramic porcelain bathroom dish is a vintage originals collectors antique and is in excellent pre-owned condition. 

Width: 6.5" inch. 2 1/8" Height, 6 1/8" Square. No chips or cracks, no crazing.  

Lovely pedestal serving platter with a pretty hand painted floral design from 1961. 

Just perfect to serve cake, scones for your vintage cream tea !

The backstamp dates this to 1961 and it is also signed by the artist "C.B.H.".

This is in wonderful condition, there are 2 very small chips to the base of the stand and some of the gold edging has worn away, but this does not detract. It is vintage, around 60+ years old, and is really in excellent condition. This has obviously been a very cared for piece. It would make a pretty addition to your party table, or, a lovely trinket dish. 

Royal Winton is an English brand of ceramics, made by Grimwades Limited, a Stoke-on-Trent based company founded in 1885. The brand is particularly associated with chintzware. 

The company was founded by Leonard Lumsden Grimwade, an experienced pottery modeller, in 1885; he was joined by his brother Sidney Richard Grimwade, also a potter. By 1906 Grimwades Ltd had four factories in the Potteries, and King George V and Queen Mary visited in 1913.
In 1928 the company began to produce chintzware, floral patterns inspired by textiles of the period. The first pattern was "Marguerite". Soon afterwards the trade name "Royal Winton" was established. Leonard Grimwade died in 1931, and James Plant took over. Over subsequent years, more than sixty chintz patterns were introduced. Because of high production costs, chintzware was discontinued in the early 1960s. In 1979 the company was acquired by Staffordshire Potteries Ltd.
